July is the month we decided to put everything in storage and gtfo of this city. My boyfriend and I are going to be traveling for a while, and our first destination is Italy. Traveling is one of my favorite things ever, and I’m so happy to be able to work from anywhere in the world!

June Income Breakdown

What’s Up In July

Honestly, work hasn’t been a priority lately. On high-anxiety days, I’ve been taking it easy. On days where I feel mostly normal, I try to get as much packing and planning done. Focusing on myself right now is essential, and I want to give myself a break.

Things picked up again at the end of the month. My pageviews were around 550,000 and my uniques over 250,000.

Ad Revenue

I was told that July and August are slow months when it comes to ads. I decided to add a few more ads for this reason, since my income was really starting to plunge.

I added a leaderboard in the header, which I’ve been meaning to do for a long time. I’m happy about that one and I’ll most likely keep it for a while. Another change I had done is in-content ads, which I’m normally not a big fan of. I’m probably going to get these ads removed, or bring them lower and format them so they’re clearly labeled as ads.

So far I’m happy about this change and AdThrive has been really helpful. I ended up earning $2,506 in ad income, which is very close to last year’s earnings ($2,624). The change was good, considering I started the month heading for $1,500.

Having an ad network do your ads is a pain in the ass, but it’s the best option right now. I’m really into the idea of learning how to do everything on my own though.

I gained almost 1,000 new followers last month, so Pinterest is going well. Tailwind is a fantastic tool.

I wasn’t very active on Facebook in July, and it definitely shows.

1. Be less of a perfectionist. I never saw myself as a “perfectionist” until others pointed it out. After reading more about it, I can see that it’s a part of my problem. And it is a true problem because it prevents me from doing more. I spend too much time on tasks, on making sure everything is good enough. On details. In the end, nothing is ever good enough and I want to change everything. It’s a neverending cycle and I have to find a way to break it.

2. Chill the f*ck out. August will be mostly about relaxing and figuring things out. Anxiety is a bitch.

Thank you for reading!
